Whether you're meeting farm animals, shopping from local artisans, enjoying memorable meals, or simply taking in the scenic back roads, you'll quickly discover that Bovina is a place best enjoyed slowly.

Stretch Your Legs
Ease into vacation with a walk-through Creamery Park and along the River Walk Trail in Bovina Center. This gentle stroll offers beautiful mountain views, fresh air, and a chance to slow your pace before the weekend begins.
If you're arriving on Friday afternoon, don't miss theseason's final Bovina Farmers' Market (4:00–7:00 p.m.), where local growers, makers, and producers offer everything from fresh vegetables and flowers to baked goods, maple products, and handcrafted items. It's a wonderful introduction to the community and a great place to gather picnic supplies or souvenirs.
Dinner
Celebrate your first evening with dinner at one of Bovina's destination restaurants. Brushland Eating House has become a favorite gathering place for locals and visitors alike, offering thoughtfully prepared seasonal meals in a beautifully restored historic building.Another great option for dinner on Friday Hidden Inn. It's an easy drive from Bovina and offers a relaxed atmosphere with dinner, wings at the bar, pizza, and classic comfort food—perfect after a day spent exploring the countryside.
Saturday: Explore the Farms & Flavors of the Catskills
Breakfast at Russell's General Store
No visit to Bovina feels complete without breakfast at Russell's General Store.
Part café, part grocery, and part community gathering place, Russell's has been welcoming residents and travelers for generations. Enjoy breakfast, pick up picnic supplies, browse local products, or simply linger over a cup of coffee while soaking up small-town life.Discover Local Farms
One of the joys of visiting Bovina is discovering the incredible farms and farm stands scattered throughout the surrounding areas.
A visit to Lavender Fields at Maxwell Farm in Delhi offers a peaceful stop where visitors can stroll fragrant lavender fields (season permitting), browse handcrafted lavender products, and experience one of the region's newest agritourism destinations.
As you continue exploring, you'll also find wonderful seasonal farm stands throughout the area. Favorites include Burn Ayr Farm, Humdinger Farm Store, Double B Farm Stand, Maplewood Farm & Orchard, Weber Hill Farm Stand, Del-Rose Farm Stand (Hanselman's) and Byebrook Farm Stand (Dysenroth's) to name a few.
There is also an open house at Rosemary Farm Horse Sanctuary in nearby South Kortright. Drop in from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, September 5th to meet the some of the 100+ rescued horses, safe in their mountain home. Catch a Training Demo with Daniel McCarthy of Catskill Natural Horses. Select barns will be open for visitors to meet-n-greet our herds and pet some of the horses.
Because farm offerings and hours vary throughout the growing season, we always recommend checking each farm's website or social media before
visiting. Many of these farms will also be a farm day on Sunday.
Lunch
Create your own farm-fresh picnic using goodies collected throughout the morning and enjoy lunch at Creamery Park or another public picnic area.
If you'd rather dine out, spend the afternoon exploring near by Andes. The village offers wonderful restaurants including the Andes Diner where local farmers gather for meals each week. You'll also find The Andes Hotel, Wayside Cider and Café Mutsi with lunch and brunch offerings (in addition to be other great dinner options). While in Andes, , check out the galleries, boutiques, bookstores, and charming small shops that make Andes well worth a visit.
Dinner
If you are intrested in staying close to Bovina, we recommend checking out Bovina Farm & Fermentory, where a working farm, brewery, restaurant, walking trails, animals, and overnight accommodations come together in one unforgettable setting. Bovina Farm & Fermentory hosts dinner parties on most Saturday evenings during the late summer and early fall.
For even more great dining, head to nearby Delhi, where you’ll find everything from creative, seasonal fare at Eighty Main and Hollow to relaxed pub favorites at The Shire Pub.

Farm Fun All Day Long
Bovina Farm Day! Today is why you came and we can’t wait to welcome you!
From 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Bovina Farm Day celebrates the region's rich agricultural heritage with activities for every age.
Spend the day meeting local farmers, visiting farm animals, shopping from dozens of local vendors, riding the hay wagon, climbing the giant haystack slide, watching antique engines and vintage tractors, touring the historic Maynard Schoolhouse, enjoying demonstrations, and participating in children's games and family activities.
Every year offers something new while celebrating the traditions that have made Farm Day a favorite community event for generations.

Take a Swing at Putt Putt Van Winkle
On your way to Bovina Farm Day, along County Route 6, you’ll pass a little fantasy land called Putt-Putt Van Winkle. Stop for a laid-back round of mini golf, grab a drink from the bar and a pizza from Tara’s Pizza, then settle in by the river and enjoy a quintessentially Bovina afternoon.
Dinner
After a full day on the farm, unwind with dinner in nearby Delhi or Andes.
Sunday evenings move at a slower pace in the area, but there are still some great spots for dinner—try recently opened Pony’s or Eighty Main in Delhi, The Hamden Inn in near by Hamden, or make your way to Andes for a meal at the historic Andes Hotel.
Monday: One Last Slow Morning
Before heading home, enjoy one final breakfast, take another stroll through Bovina Center, and stop at Russell's General Store or one of the
area's farm stands for fresh produce, maple syrup, baked goods, or locally made gifts to bring home.
Many visitors arrive for Farm Day and leave wishing they had planned an extra day. We think that's the best compliment Bovina could receive.
