Wayside Cider

Small batch Cider Producers & Tasting Room

Wayside Cider makes unique small batch mountain ciders - based in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains.

Started in 2014, Wayside Cider is a collaboration between Alex Wilson and Irene Hussey. From hand picking apples through to bottling our final product, Alex and Irene handle every stage of the process, including, of course, sharing a glass of their cider with friends. While their methods might take longer, so do all the best things in life. Their blend of wild, heirloom, and dessert apples merges past and present to create a uniquely Delaware County cider.

Bucking the current cider trend of looking to Europe for inspiration and apple cultivars, Wayside Cider is focused on making modern American ciders that draw on the history and topography of the place where they live. They pick and graft the wild and abandoned trees with the aim of preserving the past while embracing modern production methods to produce a cider unique to this region.

Opened in October 2016, the Tap Room at Wayside Cider is a meeting place, focused on regional beverage, food, friends, and good conversation.  In addition to a full range of Wayside Ciders (including some fun stuff you can't get elsewhere), they have a range of exciting beers, wines, and spirits from New York state.  Their food offerings are designed to pair with the cider, and the produce is sourced from friends and neighbors in the area, whenever possible. The cheese, meats, and vegetable boards change according the the season.  Check out Wayside Cider's event calendar for special dinners, guest makers and music.
